History
SGS-TÜV Saarland Forster GmbH is becoming Spezial-EMV GmbH
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
we are pleased to inform you that as of January 1, 2021, we have acquired the esteemed EMC testing laboratory SGS-TÜV Saarland Forster GmbH located in Perl-Sinz. We will continue to operate and expand this facility under the name Spezial-EMV GmbH. Starting January 1, 2021, the laboratory will operate with an expanded team and will be led by the managing directors Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Sven Eric Weber and Dr.-Ing. Edgar L. v. Hinüber.
Mr. Weber, who served as Deputy Laboratory Manager at SGS-TÜV Saarland Forster GmbH until 2016 and most recently held the position of department head for all European EMC and radio laboratories at a leading German testing service provider until the end of 2020, returns to his former workplace with this acquisition. Dr. Edgar v. Hinüber is the founder and CEO of iMAR Navigation GmbH, a globally operating technology-oriented company specializing in inertial navigation and stabilization systems.
Spezial-EMV GmbH offers comprehensive EMI/EMC testing and certifications for commercial, industrial, automotive, military, and aerospace products. Additionally, we provide support for type approval procedures according to KBA regulations. For radio-based components, we collaborate with a partner company based in St. Ingbert.
In addition to testing services, we also offer preliminary tests and consulting services for design optimization, enabling our customers to achieve efficient and cost-effective product certifications.
Mr. K.-H. Forster, who successfully led the company for over 20 years, will retire but will continue to provide advisory support.
The laboratory will continue operations in Perl-Sinz and undergo technical expansion until the end of 2021. Mid-term, we will relocate to St. Ingbert, where additional infrastructure for shock, vibration, and temperature testing is available. There, the laboratory will also pursue DAkkS accreditation according to ISO 17025:2017.
We look forward to a fruitful collaboration and remain available for any inquiries you may have.
Best regards
Spezial-EMV GmbH
Accreditation and proficiency testing
The formal DAkkS accreditation of our laboratory according to ISO 17025:2017, due to our relocation from Perl to St. Ingbert, is planned for Q1/2024. Accreditation will not result in significant changes to the conduct or quality of our testing procedures; however, our test reports will include the declaration of the accredited test location.
Our customers highly appreciate that Spezial-EMV GmbH has been actively participating in various accredited proficiency testing programs since the beginning of our operations. These programs involve standardized test samples being evaluated by multiple EMC laboratories to qualify their performance. A neutral body then compares the results to assess the consistency (or variation) in testing outcomes among different laboratories. This process is crucial in our testing industry for quality assurance and ensuring the comparability of testing and certification results.
We take pride in our performance in these proficiency testing programs, and we welcome any inquiries you may have regarding the details of our results.
